Auckland Zoo Recycled Hoarding Panels
𝗔𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗭𝗼𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲, and the temporary hoarding going up around it is made from milk cartons and soft plastics.
They chose saveBOARD Multi-use panels, but went with the paintable surface instead of our Exposed surface. Its finished in forest green, with a panel on the wall explaining what its made from.
The practical reason is simple. If it gets tagged over the next two years, it can be repainted without an issue. The planet side stacks up too. Across the 180 sheets (216 lineal meters), that's 𝟱,𝟴𝟯𝟮𝗸𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 from landfill. The carbon footprint receipt comes out at minus -𝟰,𝟲𝟱𝟴𝗸𝗴 𝗖𝗢𝟮𝗲 across production, transport and installation, and the panels are recyclable with us at end of life.
Practical first, cost second, planet third, all 3x boxes ticked. Hard to see why you'd choose anything else. Thanks to the team at Auckland Zoo for backing it.
