Big news for soft plastics recycling in Australia!
Woolworths Group has now rolled out soft plastics collection points to more than 700 stores across five states, and we at saveBOARD are proud to be part of making it happen!
The key piece for us is that Woolworths isn’t just collecting soft plastics, they’re closing the loop by bringing them back into their own stores and supporting a circular economy. In the 9News footage from last night you see our processing plant where soft plastic waste and food & beverage cartons are made into building materials, which have already installed across 170 stores nationwide.
Woolworths is leading by example, not just talking about sustainability, but building it into the fabric of each store they refurbish. Next time you are in Woolies, look out for the Green saveBOARD panels in the self-check out areas, low height walls, White panels around the milk fridges and feature walls in store.
