2Faced Board | Bunnings NZ
Our 2Faced board, made from 100% recycled post-consumer soft plastics, has been in 25x Bunnings stores across New Zealand for the last 3 months. No added glues. No added chemicals. The plastic becomes its own binding agent, add heat and pressure to create a tough, waterproof board that stands in for plywood on the jobsite, a garage lining, a fence or trailer floor.
We built saveBOARD on one belief: recycling only works when there is real demand for what comes out the other end. A collection bin is not the finish line. On the floor at Bunnings creates the convenience.
The material comes from The Packaging Forum's Soft Plastic Recycling Scheme, a network of 320 public drop-off points that processed over 890 tonnes of soft plastic last year. Every half sheet of 2Faced board diverts around 12.5kg of that plastic from landfill.
"The plastic people take the time to recycle in store is coming back as a product they can see and use at home." That is circular economy in action, but only works if people buy the product to create the circle.
